Farmer’s Classic Tickets
Throughout the years, the Los Angeles Open, now known as the Farmer’s Classic, has been known under a number of entities including the Countrywide Classic, Los Angeles Tennis Open, and the Pacific South West Open. The tournament is part of the ATP World Tour 250 Series, and is one of the biggest tournaments in the series. The tournament has been a longstanding staple in the series and has been a part of the tennis world since 1927. Its long history makes the tournament one of the oldest in the sport. It also has one of the biggest purses of any ATP World Tour 250 tournaments at more than $700,000 making it a favorite for many of the sport’s top players.
Annually, the tournament is held in either late July or early August and has been consistently held in Los Angeles, California. The tournament is currently held at the Los Angeles Tennis Center at UCLA, a facility that was first made for the 1984 Summer Olympics. The current format of the tournament has a 28 singles draw and a 16 team doubles draw that typically lasts for a full week of play. During the long history of the tournament, some of the biggest names in the sport have emerged as tournament champions. Past winners of the tournament include Roy Emerson, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Andrea Agassi. The big names that have participated in the tournament have also made it one of the most watched tennis tournaments in the entire series.
Another big draw of the Farmer’s Classic is that it is part of the Olympus US Open Series, another feature of the tournament that brings some of the biggest fans of the sport from all over the world to California to see the tournament play. The week long event not only includes exciting singles and doubles match play, but also a variety of tournament sponsored events such as Fashion Day, Kids Day and the Valspar Performance Challenge. There is also a Legends Invitational Singles competition that is held during the week long festivities as part of the tournament. These festivities, along with the big names that frequent the Farmer’s Classic make this one of the most watched weeks in tennis year after year.
