Ford EcoBoost 400 Tickets
Held in sunny Homestead, Florida in the Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Ford EcoBoost 400 is one of the biggest NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car races held in the sport today. The race first began in 1999 and although it is by the sport’s standards fairly new to the circuit it remains a central part of the series. Since 2002, the Ford EcoBoost 400, has been an essential part of the Ford Championship Weekend. This weekend is a celebratory event that marks the last week of the NASCAR season.
Most importantly since 2004, this race has served as the final race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup, the last 10 race leg used to determine the winner of the Sprint Cup race. Upon its first year as the final race in the “chase” the event turned out to be one of the biggest successes in NASCAR and one of the most watched events in the sport that year.
Since 2002, the event has been under the Ford name, this year was also the last year where the track had its old layout, before debuting a new layout the next year. In 2005, the track saw additional changes when lights were installed and the race was moved to an evening event held under the lights. These changes have made the 400 mile and 267 lap race one of the most entertaining to watch.
Since the event is such an important one for the drivers that participate in this final Sprint Cup challenge, there has been a history of some of the closest races in all of NASCAR. In fact this race is known for berthing several of the closest races in history. In a recent race, the 2011 running of the Ford EcoBoost 400, Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards entered a dead heat for the championship and while Stewart pulled out with the victory in a win that marked the closest margin in points in the history of the Cup.
Big events like this have long characterized this Ford race and made it known as one of the biggest and most exciting events you can attend in all of NASCAR. Also, as part of the Ford Championship Weekend, the race is at the center of a whole weekend of events set to celebrate the sport.
