The Grizzlies have made five playoff appearances, with all of them taking place while the team was located in Memphis. The team has never won a division or conference title. The team has never featured a Hall of Famer nor do they have any retired numbers. Pau Gasol won Rookie of the Year in 2002, as well as was one of six players named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. The other players included Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Mike Bibby, Shane Battier, Rudy Gay, and O.J. Mayo. In 2004, Hubie Brown was named NBA Coach of the Year, while Jerry West was named Executive of the Year. Mike Miller was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2006. The team has featured three players selected on the All-Star team: Pau Gasol in 2006, Zach Randolph in 2010, and Marc Gasol in 20102. Zach Randolph was the first player named to an All-NBA team when he was selected on the Third Team All-NBA in 2011. Tony Allen has been the only Grizzlies player named to the All-Defensive team when he was selected on the Second Team in 2011 and the First Team in 2012. Pau Gasol leads the team in career points, turnovers, blocks, rebounds, free throws and field goals attempted and made.
Memphis does not really have a natural rival; however, their biggest rival over the past couple years has been the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both of these young teams have come into their own within the past couple years as their matchups have gotten more and more exciting as both teams begin to consistently reach the playoffs. The Grizzlies have also begun to form rivalries with teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers, as the games between the two teams have gotten extremely physical.
