The New York Mets can trace its roots back in 1962, when the National League held its first expansion draft in history. In 1969, Miracle Mets won the National League East Division title. Success followed them, when they defeated the heavily-favored Baltimore Orioles and won the World Series. After 2 decades, they won the division with one of the best records in National League history. On June 12, 1979, the New York Mets again set a team record for runs scored during an inning with ten in the sixth frame versus the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets won World Series title in 1986, which again brought them in the public's eye. On April 5, 1993, the New York Mets set a team record for largest attendance on opening day when 53,127 fans saw them knocking out the Colorado Rockies by 3-0. The Miracle Mets broke their own record with eleven runs scored during the sixth inning on July 16, 2006. This team had also qualified for the postseason as the National League Wild Card team in 1999 and 2000. The Kings of Queen won four National League pennants in 1969, 1973, 1986, 2000 and five National League East titles in 1969, 1973, 1986, 1988 and 2006. Besides, the Miracle Mets play their home games at Citi Field.
