The Philadelphia Flyers were established in 1967. They played their first match on October 11, 1967 against California Seals but unfortunately lost it. After one week, they defeated St. Louis Blues with 2-1 and won their first game. Later in that game, the team defeated their rivals Pittsburgh Penguins with 1-0 in front of a crowd of 7,812 at home. The Flyers won their first division with sub .500. In 1968–69 season, the team made the first playoff appearance but lost the game. In 1971-72 season, player Clarke won Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy and became the first Flyer to win an NHL award. The following season was one of the successful seasons of the team. They defeated the Atlanta Flames with 3-1. Rick MacLeish became the first Flyer to score 50 goals in a season. The Flyers got their first playoff series win in six games but lost to the Montreal Canadiens in semi-finals. The team started 1987–88 season well and finished third in the pacific division. The team finished with .500 mark and made it to the playoff for the 17th consecutive season. The Philadelphia Flyers have won 8 conference championships, 16 division championships with 2 Stanley Cups since their formation. The team play their home games at Wells Fargo Center.
