Quaker State 400 Tickets
As one of the newest events in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the Quaker State 400 has managed to make a great deal of impact in its very short history. The race, which is set to be an annual event, is held at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta Kentucky and is 400.5 miles in length and is a total of 267 laps around the track. The race faced a number of setbacks after legal issues between the Kentucky Speedway and NASCAR which started in 2005. After the speedway was sold to Burton Smith, the track began working towards starting a new race and in August of 2010 NASCAR made the official announcement that the track would be holding a Spring Cup Series event in 2011.
The event is sponsored by Royal Dutch Shell’s Quaker State Brand and the inaugural race event was held on July 9, 2011. The event got off to a rocky start as thousands of fans came in to see the highly anticipated brand new addition to the series. However, traffic problems turned away many fans looking to attend the race, after waiting in traffic to make it to the event. However, for the fans that did make it to the first race in the history of the Quaker State 400, it was a close and exciting race for fans to watch.
Many were excited to see a brand new addition to the normal set of NASCAR races and the event was covered on network television and announced by TNT. The race was off to an exciting start and was eventually won by Kyle Busch who finished the race in 2:55:00 and who averaged 137 mph during the event. After a successful first year and their first series winner in the books the race came back on June 30, 2012 for a second year. The second anniversary of the race proved to be just as successful as the debut event. Penske Racing driver Brad Keselowski came in and won the event averaging a record-breaking speed of 145 mph during his 267 laps around the track.
With a successful two year start to the event there is no denying that the Quaker State 400 is poised to be one of the most successful additions to the NASCAR series in several years.
