The Padres had their first winning season in 1978, when they bagged 84 wins. On April 19, 1982, the San Diego Padres set a team record for hits during a regular season game with twenty-four versus the San Francisco Giants. The next year, the padres won their first division title. The Padres have won the National League Pennant twice, in 1984 and 1998. The San Diego Padres set a team record for runs scored during an inning on August 24, 1993, with thirteen in the first inning versus the St. Louis Cardinals. After few months, on May 31, 1994, they tied their own franchise record, during the second inning versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team play their homes matches at PETCO Park, which combines the best sight lines in baseball with breathtaking views of San Diego. It replaced the Qualcomm Stadium as the home park of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres in 2004.
