The St. Louis Blues were established in 1967. They are one of the teams that were added to the NHL in the 1967 expansion. Success came to the team in the late 1990’s. The Blues reached the final round each of their first three seasons but failed to acquire a victory. They won the Vezina Trophy in 1969. In the following year, the Bluenotes won the Lady Byng Trophy. After few years, in 1976-77 season, the team won the Smythe Division. The Blues made the playoffs in 1980. This was their first of 25 consecutive post-season appearances. The 1981 was one of the successful seasons of the team. They finished the season with 45 wins and 107 points. This was observed as the second-best record in the league. In 1999–2000, the team notched a franchise-record with 114 points during the regular season. They got the Presidents' Trophy for the league's best record. In 2001, the Blues advanced to the Western Conference Finals but unfortunately lost it. The Bluenotes made the playoff appearances in every year from 1980 to 2004. This set a record third longest streak in North American professional sports history. On January 4, 2007, the Blues had a record of 6–1–3 in their previous 10 games, which was the best in the NHL during that stretch.
