Texas Tennis Open Tickets
The Texas Tennis Open is a professional women’s only tennis tournament held in Dallas, Texas. Although its future position with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) was unknown for some time, it became at late addition to the WTA Tour in 2011. Since becoming part of the official WTA tour, the Texas Tennis Open has been held at the Hilton Lakes Tennis and Sports Club in Grapevine, a suburb of Dallas. The event is considered an International level event and is slated to be held on the same week in August as the New Haven Open at Yale.
Although the tournament is relatively new, this women’s only event, which is held in the week leading up the US Open, has already proven to be a massive success and the ideal environment for international women’s players and fans of the game to gather and watch some of the most exciting singles and doubles matches in the sport. The outdoor, hard court event is currently presented by Tennis Express and not only works to bring attention to women’s tennis but to several charity organization, such as the community 10,000 Kids program.
In its inaugural year, the Texas Tennis Open had a full bracket of top women’s players. This included Sabine Lisicki, a player highly ranked in the world ranking and an international favorite among fans. Lisicki was also the 2011 singles winner at the Texas Tennis Open, slated to return to the tournament in 2012. The 2012 tournament is seated to have eleven players ranked in the WTA international Top 50, including the previously ranked number one player Jelena Jankovic. The tournament is set up as a 32 player singles draw and a 16 team doubles draw. The main stadium in the tennis arena holds 2500 fans, making it a great opportunity for fans to see their favorite women players up close and in an intimate setting as they battle for the top spot in the tournament.
With some of the most talented and versatile players in the country traveling to Texas to compete in the tournament, the new yet exciting Texas Tennis Open has already shown to be heading towards a position as one of the most watched tennis tournaments in the sport today.
