UFC 149 Tickets
UFC 149 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event being put on by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or as it is more commonly known the UFC, on July 21, 2012. The event is slated to take place at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta in Canada. This will be the first UFC event that takes place in the province of Alberta in Canada.
There has been a significant amount of changes that have occurred with the fight card. As it stands now, the current fight card features lightweights Mitch Clark against Anton Kuivanen, followed by featherweights Antonion Carvalho against Daniel Pineda. Next up are bantamweights Bryan Caraway against Mitch Gagnon, followed by light heavyweights Ryan Jimmo and Anthony Perosh. The final two bouts of the preliminary card are bantamweights Roland Delorme against Francisco Rivera, followed by middleweights Court McGee against Nick Ring. The preliminary card will be broadcast on FX.
For the main card on pay-per-view, currently scheduled is a welterweight bout between Claude Patrick and James Head. Up next is a middleweight bout between Hector Lombard and Tim Boetsch. For the main event, for the interim UFC Bantamweight Championship is Urijah Faber against Renan Barao. Faber comes in with a record of 26-5 with seven knockouts. Faber was in 2006 the WEC featherweight champion. Faber is currently ranked second in Sherdog’s bantamweight rankings.
Renan Barao comes into the main event as the third ranked bantamweight fighter by Sherdog. Barao owns a record of 28-1 with one no contest and six knockouts. The Brazilian fighter comes in riding a 28-bout unbeaten streak. Since his debut at UFC 130 on May 28, 2011, Barao has won all three of his bouts, with two by unanimous decision and his victory against Brad Pickett by submission in UFC 138. His bout against Pickett was named the Fight of the Night.
There are two more as of yet unplaced bouts on the card. This includes a bout between heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Shawn Jordan, filling in for the former UFC interim champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The night will also feature a bout between welterweights Chris Clements and Siyar Bahadurzada.
