Cirque du Soleil - Ovo Tickets
Cirque du Soleil Ovo is a touring production which originally premiered in Montreal, Canada in 2009. The show is inspired by insects not the idea of the acts, dancing or even about insects themselves, but actually about movement. The movement of life is about creatures flying, leaping, bounding and crawling. Ovo means egg in Portuguese and represents the underlying thread through the show. The two O’s in the name represent the eyes and the V in the name represents the nose.
The story is about O heading into a colorful ecosystem where insects work, eat, crawl, play, fight and experience life as they fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of movement and energy. The idea is about how the insect’s home is considered a world of biodiversity and beauty that is filled along with the noisy actions and movements of quiet emotions.
The story begins with a mysterious egg appearing in the midst of where the insects are located. They are awestruck yet, very curious about the presence of the object. The idea of the mysterious egg, it represents the enigma and cycles of the insects’ lives. Later, a strange insect arrives in the community and an attractive ladybug catches his eye; they feel love at first sight for both of them.
The hidden and secret world is seen as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, and peaceful and chaotic. Every time the sun rises, you can expect to experience a new day the vibrant cycle of an insect life starts over again.
Ovo is a story about the magic of what Cirque du Soleil is known about.
