Blue Man Group Tickets
The Blue Man Group is a trio of bald-headed performers who all wear a blue latex paint on their heads. The group is an international phenomenon producing theatrical shows and concerts across the world. The group features popular music, comedy and recorded music and scores for television and film as part of their unique shows. The idea of the group being blue is so they would not be of any type of race and avoid the stereotypes. They want to be perceived as innocent as children and just as curious as them too.
The performers are all of the originals of the Blue Man Group; their names are Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton. All three worked previously as caterers for a Manhattan caterer back in 1988. Then, they started appearing on the streets of NY wearing black clothing and blue make-up while performing different types of unusual acts. They eventually took their act to La MaMa Experimental Theater Club where they started performing shorts.
The show was well liked at La MaMa and the group were commissioned to create their own show. In 1991, the group moved their show to the Astor Place Theater.
The Blue Man group, never speaks during their performances; you will only find them making grand gestures on stage. You will find them showing different ranges of emotions by the use of their eyes.
