Cirque du Soleil - Kà Tickets
Cirque du Soleil – Kà is the first production that Cirque du Soleil started in 2005. The show is located at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Kà is a straightforward story without all of the abstract visuals the other Cirque du Soleil productions have. It is technologically advanced because of all of the different technical aspects of the show, which include the various costumes. The costumes combined with the complex automation, pyrotechnics, puppetry and multimedia projections help to immerse the audience into the Kà story.
Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment company based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was found in 1984 by Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier. It is named as the contemporary circus, which is a theatrical and character driven approach without animals performing.
There are over 300 people on the production team of Kà which include the technicians and support staff. Of the 300, there are 80 performers and on-stage artists. Some of the characters performing include; Chief Archer’s daughter, Counselor, Counselor’s Son, Court jester, Firefly boy, Forest people and more different characters.
Kà is a story about conflict and love of imperial twins who are separated during their youth. There are four pre-shows before the performance starts. Some of the characters greet the guests before the starts. The performance is made up of 14 different scenes which some include; Pageant, Storm, Deep, Archer’s Den, Shadow Play showing the art of shadow puppets, Climb, Blizzard and several other scenes.
Kà features an off-stage band which accompanies the acting, singing and acrobatics. Although during different portions of the show, you will see different musicians making appearances performing on stage in their costumes. The idea of the music is to provoke various emotions and moods of the audience with drama, emergency, passion and serenity with an African flavor. The music is not from any time period; the music is ageless. Those who have seen the performance recommend purchasing the CD after the show.
