Newsies Tickets

Back in 1899, there were thousands of homeless and orphaned children trying to make a living by selling newspapers.  Their means of making money was interrupted by the  greedy newspaper publishing company who wanted to profit from the boys.  The boys stand their ground and fight back impacting not only the city of New York but also across the nation.

The musical is about the tale of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teens who dream only of a better life from the struggles on the streets.  Later when the publisher of the newspapers,  Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the the cost of distribution at the newsboys’ expense, Jack  fights and rallies all the newsies from across the city to support him and strike for what is right.  With the help from a beautiful reporter Katherine Plumber, the city quickly recognizes the power of the underdog and ends up sparking a movement for social change sweeping across the nation rapidly.

It is a  feel-good family musical introducing Newsies to a new generation of fans while pleasing the fans of the original 1992 film.  The Broadway production includes many of the songs from the 1992 movie and many new songs were added too.

Newsies is a musical for the entire family to enjoy, and it is considered to be one of the most enjoyable Broadway shows for kids and parents alike.  It is a show you don’t want to miss.
