Spider Man—Turn off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge. It is based on the book written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and published by Marvel Comics, as well as based on the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne.

While superhero loving kids will go crazy for Spider-Man as he soars around the audience, younger children may be slightly frightened by the evildoers who aim to bring down the super hero. M uch of the fight choreography looks like stylized dancing, so it is not overly violent. Although, some of the video projections are a bit intense for younger kids.
