In addition to these yearly staples the Nokia Theatre has also been the home to the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010 and 2011 and the Grammy Awards Live Concert and Announcement in 2008 and 2011. The location was chosen thanks to the Nokia Theatre’s convenient location across the street from the Staples Center. It was also announced in 2012 that in 2013 the BET Awards will move their ceremony to the Nokia Theatre as well. When not hosting big name events such as these award shows, the Nokia Theatre hosts numerous big concert and entertainment events for those living in the greater Los Angeles area.
With so many big name events taking place in the Nokia Theatre there is no denying the significance of this single event space and the major impact it has made on the entertainment world in just a few short years of operation.
