The Vic Theatre Tickets
Although it is formally known as The Victoria Theatre, for many living in the greater Chicago, Illinois area, this venue is simply known as The Vic Theatre. This musical venue is known throughout the city for being one of the smallest yet most successful music venues in the area. The Vic Theatre has seating for a thousand guests and when at capacity it can easily accommodate up to 1,400 people.
The Vic Theatre has a long history in the city of Chicago; dating back to 1912 when the Victoria Theatre first opened. At the time it was created to be a luxurious and over the top five story vaudeville house. It took years ton construct and was designed under the famous architect John E.O. Pridmore. From the moment it opened over 100 years ago, The Vic Theater has been doing one thing; providing entertainment to its visitors. This is a tradition that continues today.
During the past 100 year, The Vic Theatre has gone under several transformations and changed management a few times to offer new types of entertainment options. However, primarily, The Vic Theatre has been a music concert venue. Today, it showcases live musical performances for well-known bands looking for an intimate setting and looking to take advantage of the famous acoustics in the arena. A number of bands have performed at the theatre over the years and many have recorded live albums or DVD specials within the beautiful interior of the theatre as the interior design of this venue is thought by many to deliver a breathtaking backdrop for live recorded concert event specials. Bands such as Pappa Roach and Wilco have recorded live DVD performances at The Vic Theatre and comedians Bill Hicks and Jim Gaffigan have both had stand up comedy specials filmed at the theatre now.
When The Vic Theatre isn’t hosting a live musical act, it continues to do what this theatre has done for more than 100 years; entertain. The present day Vic Theatre opens its doors as a “brew and view” second-run movie theatre when bands are not performing to continue to provide unique and engaging entertainment to all of those living in Chicago.
