Beacon Theater Tickets
Originally opened in 1929, the Beacon Theater is one of the oldest and most established entertainment venues in all of New York City. Located along the famous Broadway Street in Manhattan, the Beacon Theater is known for being one of the most central and popular historic theaters in the entire city. The history theater is also known as the Beacon Theater and Hotel and for bringing in some of the biggest acts in entertainment to a unique and intimate setting that guests have to experience in order to truly understand.
The three-tiered theater was originally designed by the famous Chicago architect Walter W. Ahlschlager and those behind the theater have done what they can to keep this same historic look in the inside of the venue. The Beacon Theater was first created to be a movie palace for both vaudeville acts and motion pictures and over the years has transformed into a leading venue for live music and entertainment. It is currently controlled by Madison Square Garden Inc.
This theater seats 2,894 guests at full capacity and is a popular destination for artists seeking a more intimate performance venue. It has also been the location for the 2011 and 2012 Tony Awards celebrations. While some may know it as the new home for the Tonys, many know the Beacon Theater as being the favorite destination for the band The Allman Brothers Band. Starting in 1989 the group began a 20-year run of consecutive yearly performances at the Beacon Theater, selling out the concert to adoring fans every year. The venue has also been home to acts such as Cirque du Soleil the VH1 Divas Live Performance and many of George Carlin’s comedy specials from HBO. Conan O’Brien has taped shows at the venue and films such as the Tolling Stones live IMAX concert movie from martin Scorsese have also premiered at the venue. These events have all occurred when big name acts, bands and stand up comedians aren’t making a stop at the Beacon Theater on their tours.
With lineups such as this and a reputation for being one of the most lavish and culturally significant venues in New York City, there is no denying the significance of the Beacon Theater that has shown decade after decade that there are no limits to the type of entertainment the theater presents its guests.
