Rosemont Theater (Akoo Theater) Tickets
The Rosemont Theater in Illinois, which has recently been given the new name of the Akoo Theater in Rosemont, has been a popular performance venue in the greater Chicago area for years. The concert hall, nestled in the Chicago suburb, opened in 1995 and has played host to some of the biggest artists and live performances in the country. Located near the O’Hare International Airport, the theater provides easy access for those traveling from out of town to attend events at the arena.
The venue was changed from The Rosemont Theater to the Akoo Theater in 2012, after the global media and technology company got a $1.5 million naming rights deal over the venue. The name change came as a surprise to many area residents as numerous attempts had been made over the years to sell the land for casino and gambling sites to generate income for the town. Although many are still referring to the hall as the Rosemont Theater, the all venue related materials were switched over to the Akoo name as of February 2012.
Even though the venue is located in the same city as the larger Allstate Arena, the Rosemont Theater has still been a popular location for many big name artists and performers. Many performers who prefer more intimate concert venues or want to take advantage of the arena’s publicized quality sound system will perform at the venue.The current seating capacity at the concert hall is 4,400, a fraction of the seating capacity of the Allstate venue and of other Chicago area venues.
Although the Rosemont Theater is rather small when compared to some of the massive venus in the greater Chicago area, numerous performers such as Kenny G, Pink, Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson and Justin Bieber have all performed at the theater. The hall has also hosted the Jeopardy! College Championship and the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Guests who visit the theater can enjoy the intimate atmosphere, wide easy to navigate aisles, access to public transportation and easy parking of the venue designed to make concert-going experiences less stressful for visitors.
