The Riviera Theater Tickets
Located on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois is the famous and historical Riviera Theater. This indoor concert venue was first built in 1917 and designed to be part of the Balaban and Katz theatre chain. Years later the Riviera Theatre would become a private nightclub until reopening as a concert venue. As part of the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago it is in the company of several other notable music venues including the nearby Aragon Ballroom. The company is also operated by the same company that owns The Vic, Park West and Jam Productions. The theater is most known for its grand interior design and its homage to its original 1917 roots which can seen throughout the venue with its historic decor.
Today the Riviera Theatre is known for providing an intimate setting for liver musical performances from some of the biggest acts in entertainment today. The theater can hold around 2,500 guests for a single performance. Recent performances include those from bands such as the All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday and Alanis Morissette. Today many big name bands and stand up comedians will travel to the Riviera Theatre for performances in the area and the grand design of the venue also makes it a popular destination for corporate event rentals.
The general admission venue has seating mainly in the balcony area of the theater. However, the venue often adds additional seating on the main floor of the venue for big concerts or certain special events. For many living in the Uptown area and in all neighborhoods in Chicago the Riviera Theater is known for being one of the most guest accessible theaters in Chicago. The theater can be easily located by both car and public transportation; something often unseen in the Chicago area. It is a block away from the nearest “L” train station and half a block from a local bus station. With features and conveniences such as this it is easy to see that while the Riviera Theater isn’t the biggest venue in Chicago it is one of the most beloved by Chicago residents and performers who are looking for a unique and truly grand performance stage.
